This 1969 Apple Records release (SO-383) is an original Canadian first pressing of Abbey Road. Identified by the dark green Apple label, this unit was manufactured and distributed in Canada by Capitol Records (Canada) Ltd. and pressed at The Compo Company Ltd. in Lachine, Quebec.
As an authentic first-state Canadian issue, the back cover features the Apple logo aligned correctly under the Side 1 tracklist, and notably, "Her Majesty" is NOT listed on the jacket or the Side 2 label. The front cover is the "un-cropped" version, showing the full square metal street access lid at the bottom of the crosswalk. Canadian pressings of this era are highly regarded for their heavy cardstock "Ever Reddy" printed jackets and the unique tonal qualities of the Compo Company's vinyl formula, which many collectors find superior to the standard US Jacksonville or Scranton runs.
