Published by Timely Comics (the company that later evolved into Marvel Comics) with a cover date of Fall 1942, Sub-Mariner Comics #7 represents an early expanded solo feature for Prince Namor. Created by Bill Everett, Namor was one of Timely's foundational trio of heroes alongside Captain America and the original Human Torch. Published by Timely Comics, the predecessor to modern Marvel Comics, Sub-Mariner Comics debuted in Spring 1941 as a dedicated solo vehicle for Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner. Created by writer and artist Bill Everett, the character initially appeared in Motion Picture Funnies Weekly #1 and Marvel Comics #1 in 1939. The launch of his self-titled quarterly series marked a significant expansion for Timely Comics, anchoring its early line alongside companion titles for the original Human Torch and Captain America.
Throughout its initial Golden Age run, Sub-Mariner Comics documented the evolving nature of comic book storytelling during World War II. Early issues shifted Namor from an anti-establishment outsider to an active defender of Allied interests, pitting him against Axis powers and wartime saboteurs. Beyond Everett's foundational work, the series featured artwork and scripts by notable creators including Carl Pfeufer and Syd Shores, while also introducing key supporting characters such as Namora and the Golden Age superhero the Angel in backup features. Single bid cancellations are at the auctioneer's discretion. For maximum bids:

Decreases require auctioneer approval
Changes won't be permitted if the lot closes within 24 hours or has significant activity

You'll be notified of winning bids in three ways:
