The Incredible Hulk
The Incredible Hulk debuted in May 1962 as a solo ongoing title published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the series introduced Dr. Bruce Banner, a nuclear physicist who transforms into a giant, green-skinned behemoth whenever subjected to extreme emotional stress or rage. Launched during the initial surge of Marvel's Silver Age expansion, the title drew visual and narrative inspiration from classic monster fiction, particularly Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Although the original 1962 series was cancelled after just six issues, the character's core narrative continued through split-book anthology features in Tales to Astonish alongside Sub-Mariner and Giant-Man. By issue #102 in April 1968, Tales to Astonish was officially retitled The Incredible Hulk, restarting the character's primary solo run. Across its multi-decade publication history, the series introduced fundamental Marvel Universe lore, including key supporting figures like Betty Ross and General "Thunderbolt" Ross, major adversaries such as the Abomination and the Leader, and the debut of Wolverine in The Incredible Hulk #181.
The series holds historical significance as a cornerstone of Marvel Comics' shared continuity and an influential exploration of the antihero archetype in American sequential art. The Incredible Hulk shifted superhero storytelling away from traditional heroic tropes toward themes of internal psychological conflict, societal alienation, and the unintended consequences of atomic power. The title's enduring legacy is reflected in its widespread adaptation into television, film, and animated media, as well as its inclusion in major museum retrospectives exploring mid-century American pop culture.

Bidding starts at the reserve price and increases by predetermined increments based on the current bid range. These increments are clearly shown on each lot's detail page. All bids (including maximum and single bids) must follow these preset increments to prevent duplicate bids.
Single bid cancellations are at the auctioneer's discretion. For maximum bids:
You can increase your maximum bid amount
Decreases require auctioneer approval
Changes won't be permitted if the lot closes within 24 hours or has significant activity

You'll be notified of winning bids in three ways:
